Introduction of members & guests
Treasurer's Report: Current balance $2,357.52. Submissions for club provided food for this meeting. One check issued in error by the President was fully reimbursed to the club..
Vice President's Report: None
Secretary's Report: Highlights of the previous meeting.
President's Report:
· Window stickers - obtaining prices from original vendor
and at least one more
· Holiday Party will be in November
· Toys for Tots - Members are encouraged to bring a new
unwrapped toy to the October meeting, Rich will contact the Marine
Corp about pickup.
· Golden Chevelle award will be given out at the next meeting
· Bylaws change vote was taken to allow spouses a separate
vote on club matters, Passed 11 for changing and 4 to retain the
current bylaws.
· 2007 Officer nominations, no new nominations were made,
Cathy Von Kaenel was nominated for both Secretary and Treasurer
during the August meeting, she declined the nomination for Secretary
and accepted the nomination for Treasurer. Elections will be
held at the October meeting.
· One member of the election committee has been nominated
for an office, Rich will take there place on the committee.
· Member Ron Liston is home recovering from colon surgery.
New topics:
· Officers will bring soup to the October meeting and members
are to bring a side dish.
· Flashbacks (Omaha) has offered the use of their parking
lot if we would like to have a car show. This will be on the
agenda for the October meeting since if we decide to do a show
it can be added to the Car Club Council's booklet.
· Car Club Council - dues are due in October, $.50 per
member, Club Ad for the booklet is due in January. These expenditures
were approved as an ongoing expense last year.
New Drag Strip:
Owner of the Scriber drag strip (now closed) is looking to build
a new ¼ mile track 4 miles north of Lincoln. A Hearing
has been scheduled for October 11 with the Lancaster County Planning
Board. Support is needed to get this track built. Members can
contact members of the Planning Board, the City Council members,
the Mayor of Lincoln, the newspapers, etc. Contact information
