Introduction of members and guests,

Treasurer’s Report: current balance $2,007.37

Secretary’s Report: Recap of minutes of July meeting.

President’s Report:

Cameron Hanson memorial - Cameron Hanson was killed in an accident about 2 weeks ago. He was the only child of Chuck & LaRae Hanson and had a young son, Christopher. A $100 donation will be sent by the club to the memorial fund. The funds will be deposited in a trust fund for Christopher’s education.

The Horse Power and Hot Air Car Show - This show was co-sponsored by the club with Iowa Western Community College in Council Bluffs. The turn out of cars entered in the show was not good due to a lack of promotion/advertising. The club had 11 cars on display at the show, but only 5 cars were entered. In the future flyers need to be out a month prior to a show and a follow up at about 2 weeks prior to a show. Additionally, the club should have a committee to promote and organize a show. We did get a new member at this show.

Mid America Chevelle Regional, Olathe KS - Every one had a good time. A number of members were at the show and a large spectator crowd. No club participation award was given, but we would have won. This show will be on the 1st or 2nd weekend in August next year. The Midwest Regional Show will be in Tulsa and if in August will be an indoor show.

Reinvigorating the Club - The membership will be asked for opinions for social activities for the club. A survey was given to the individuals attending this meeting asking for ideas. The survey will also be sent via email to all members. Tom P and Bob V volunteered to serve on the Activities committee. Also discussed was the use of club funds for these activities and for chartable causes. A holiday dinner for the club will be in December at the Waverly VFW Club. The dinner will be turkey and ham with a pot luck dish from members. Dave and Jackie Dietze are organizing the activity. A budget of $250 for door prizes plus the cost of the food was passed.

A cruise is being organized to the next meeting at Jim Clary’s in Ft Calhoun on 9/25/05. Cruise will start in Lincoln and Omaha. Details will be sent via email. Jim needs a count on those attending so he can plan for the food. This will also be a pot luck dinner (Jim is supplying the meat).

Newsletter - Bob and Cathy Von Kaenel have volunteered to produce the newsletter.

Election Committee - Bob Von Kaenel, Jim Clary and Greg Swim are the committee, the following nominations were made and accepted for the following: Rich Cummings - President, Steve Howard - Vice President, Dave Dietze - Treasurer and Doug Kass - Secretary. Nominations can be also be made at the September meeting or mailed/emailed to a member of the Election Committee. Voting will be at the October meeting.
