Car info:
We were thinking of
finding a muscle car in 2002 and had looked for some online and in want
ads. We wanted a car for fun that would be a driver. One afternoon we
drove by Rock Motors on 108th & Maple in Omaha and noticed a
silver 1971 Chevelle. We stopped and looked at it, but it had some
problems and we decided to continue to look.
About a week later we again drove by Rock Motors to see if the silver
Chevelle was still there and noticed they now had a second 1971
Chevelle. This one was red, had a 454 and was an SS clone. My son and I
looked the car over very well and asked the dealer what he knew about
the car. After test driving the car and looking the car over again we
bought the car. The paint and interior of the car are still the
original color and configuration. The car was originally from Georgia
per the title and had been modified some by previous owners.
Modifications made by others included an after market cam, roller
rockers, and headers.
I added new springs all around and used big block El Camino springs in
back to raise the rear a couple of inches. Other changes I have made
were a new stereo system and a Holley Street Avenger carb.
